626 Assembly Proceedings, September 23-October 26, 1723.

They return and say they Delivered it.

The following Message is prepared viz.

By the Lower House of Assembly October the 5th 1723.

May it please your Honours.
Severall Members of this House Complaining that they
have lost their Horses through the negligence of Richard
Young the Gate Keeper this House is Desirous that the said
Young should be removed from that Office and that Your
Honours will be pleas'd to Joyn with us in removeing the
said Young and Appointing Some other proper person in his
Stead.

Which was sent to the Upper House by Mr Courts and Mr
Tolley. They return and say they Delivered it.
The Petition of John Hall Esqr is read and rejected.
Benjamin Tasker Esqr from the Upper House delivers Mr
Speaker the Petition of Samuell Skippon thus Endorst viz:

By the Upper House of Assembly. Octobr the 5th 1723.
Gent.
Wee Agree with your House in your proposalls in your
Message of this day by Capt Harrison and Mr King and Colo
Thomas Addison a member of this House is Appointed to be
Joyned with some of the Members of your House to agree
with proper workmen to proceed on the work proposed Im-
mediately who is now ready to proceed thereon in Conjunction
with them.

Thereupon Colo John Ward Capt Justinian Jordan and
Capt Henry Hooper are Appointed to Joyn with the said Colo :
Addison.
On a Motion made from the Committee of Accounts relate-
ing to the Allowances to be made to the Councellors out of
Assembly time and on reading a Letter from the Members of
the Councill to that Committee relateing thereto, This House
are not willing to recede from their former Resolutions on that
Occasion made.
On a motion made the Question was put whether there
shall be a new standing Court Erected on each Side of the
Bay for the Tryall of Criminalls or not?
