492 Assembly Proceedings, April 5-22, 1720.

Practice in the said Court untill he should make his Due Sub-
mission, And whereas upon his Application to us against the
said Order, we have declared that he ought to make a reason-
able Submission before he should be restored to his practice
there and the said Thos Macnemara having lately made a
Satisfactory Submission to us the said Lord Proprietarie, we
have thought fitt that the said Suspension be taken off, And
do hereby Order and Direct that you the said John Hart our Lt
Governour and Keeper of the Great Scale of the Province, or
in your Absence the Keeper of the Great Seal of the Province
for the time being do forthwith discharge the said Order and
all Orders Explanatory thereof and restore the said Thos
Macnemara to his Practice in the said Court

the pvince of Maryland And in his Absence to the Keeper of
the Great Seal of the sd pvince for the time being.
These

His Excellency's Speech in Councill at the Delivering up
the Great Seals of this Province

Gentlemen.

I must confess myself surprized at the maner of Proceed-
ing to restore Mr Macnemara by a formal Precept to his
Practice before me without making his due Submission to me
who was •psonally affronted in the Execution of that Office
wherein I represented the Lord Propry.
I say I am Surprized because I find this Precept (or order
or whatever denomination it may go under for it is a novelty)
Contrary to their Lordships Sundry Letters, that Signified
their Approbation (even with Encomiums) of what I had
done in that matter, And that Mr Macnemara ought not to be
restored till he made his due Submission to me. And now to
find their Ldships Order him to be Restored without so much
as a Letter from them to me (on an Occasion which surely
was not Triffling) does indeed Amaze me, and certainly the
Support of the Magistrates will Deserve your Attention at
Least.
That Affronts were given by Macnemara (and to whom in a
Publick Station were they not given by that man of Infamous
and Insolent memory) in the Execution of my Office is ad-
mitted. These were Vertually affronts to his Ldship, But they
