sequently the Widow having right to the Administration of
Intestates estates no relation of more remote Degree can be
Qualifyed to call the residue out of her hands by those Laws.
We therefore conceive the bill as proposed is agreeable to
the laws of great Britain and that the Amendment proposed
would be repugnant thereto.

And Sent with the Bill aforesaid to the Upper House by Mr
Beale and Mr Dare.
They return and say they Delivered it.
Bill to prevent the buying and Selling of Offices and to pre-
vent Corruption in Officers
Read the first and second times by especial Order & will
Pass which was so Endorst and sent to the Upper House by
Capt Codd and Mr Parry
They return and say they delivered it.
Ordered that Mr Philip Lee Mr Charles Wright Mr Edmond
Benson and Capt Richd Colegate be a Committee to View and
Inspect the publick Records and make their report thereon to
the house.
And ordered the foil: Message be prepared Viz:

By the Lower House of Assembly June the 2d 1719.

May it Please your Honours
This house desires that Some of the Members of your
House may be Joyned with Mr Phillip Lee Mr Charles Wright
Mr Edmond Benson and Capt Richard Colegate in a Comittee
to inspect the publick records that the Severall officers may
give Security According to the direction of the Act for repair-
ing the records & on the report that shall be made by that
Committee.

And Sent to the Upper House by Mr Wright Mr Benson and
Mr Colegate.
They return and say they Delivered it.

The house Adjourns till one a Clock in the afternoon.
