And having put the Question to this house whether there is
any thing Contained in that Act that Can be deemed or Con-
strued to Extend that the Trusts Authorities or Powers
granted between man & man in their Private Transactions is
affected thereby.
Tis by this house answered that that Act has no relation to
any Trusts Authorities or powers granted between man & man
in their private Transactions. We having Offered you this
Opinion desire the opinion of your house likewise hereon

lays before this house their report as follows.

Pursuant to an order of the Uper house of Assembly dated
the 3d day of June 1717 Mr James Lloyd & Capt Thos Truman
Greenfield are appointed by the lower house of Assembly to
Join with the honourable Samuel Young Esqr appointed by the
uper house to inspect into the Laws of Maryland for a Law
made Anno 1681 for the Punishment of such as shou'd Coun-
terfeit his Lordships Great Seal of this pvince.
We do Report that We have Examined all the Laws that
We Can find in the Secretarys Office made in the time of the
Lord Baltemores Govrnmt And do not find any Law made in
that Year to that purpose nor any other Except one Law made
at the Session of Assembly Anno 1640 And one other Anne
1649 which Laws we lay before your Excy & Honrs for your
Perusal the one Recorded WH folio 8 and the other in a
parchmt Covered book folo 147.

Proposed by his Excellency whether It be not proper tc
bring in A bill for the punishment of those who shall counter-
feit his Lordship's greater Scale, Privy Seal or sign manuel
or any other the publick Seals of this Province.
Thereupon the folo Endorsement is made on the Report and
Sent to the lower house Viz.

By the Uper house of Assembly June the 4th 1717

On Reading the within Report It is the Opinion of this
