required the said Armourer taking a Receipt upon such
Order for the same.
Ordered that the present General Assembly which stands
prorogued to Monday the 24th Day of June next, be further
prorogued to Monday the 24 Day of July next, and Procla-
mations issued accordingly.

At a Council held at the City of Annapolis Wednesday
the fifth Day of July in the eighth year of his Lordship's
Dominion Annoque Domini 1758.

Read the following Letter from the Governor to the hon-
ourable Benjamin Tasker Esqr


Fort Frederick the 28.. July 1758.
Sir

I beg the Favour of you to lay the enclosed Transcript
before the Council, and if you and the other Gentlemen ap-
prove thereof I would have Mr Ross make out a Warrant
for the Execution of Charles Butler the Slave and Criminal
therein mentioned. I hope the Letter which you wrote to
Col: Ireland requiring him to enforce my Orders to Captain
Broome will have the desired Effect, but if both that Com-
pany and the Company that is ordered hither from Cecil
County should refuse to march, T must desire you and the
other Gentlemen of the Council to advise me how to act and
what Measures to take for the Defence and Protection of the
Frontier Inhabitants during the rest of the Summer. When
