a Testimony of your Bravery and Memorial of your Friend-
ship in return I send you a Belt of Wampum, which you
will I hope send home to your People, and desire the young
Men to take hold thereof and to do as you have already done.

His Excellency is pleased to lay before this Board the fol-
lowing Petition and Letter.
To his Excellency Horatio Sharpe Esqr Governor of Mary-
land The humble Petition of Daniel Wolstenholme of An-
napolis Merchant.
Sheweth
That your Petitioner having lately received Orders from
Christopher Kilby Esqr one of the Contractors for his Maj-
estys Troops in North America to ship a Quantity of Pro-
visions for the Use of the Forces to be employed in the
Defence of South Carolina, has now a Sloop lying in Severn
River called the Elizabeth Edmund Rutland Master ready
to sail with Part of the said Provisions on board. Your
Petitioner therefore agreeable to Instructions given him
which are ready to be produced to your Excellency humbly
requests your Excellency's Permission for said Vessel to
depart this Province on her intended Voyage and as in Duty
bound he will ever pray &c..

You are hereby desired to purchase and convey to Mr
Benjamin Stead Merchant in Charles-Town in South Caro-
lina in the best and most effectual manner 700.. l of Flour,
and 350.. l of Bread for the use of the Forces to be victualled
in that Province at the Expence of the Crown, and as a
Special License may possibly be necessary for the first Vessel
to be dispatch't, or some others that may follow hereafter,
you'l please to apply to Governor Sharpe with this Letter,
