ing or bartering for the same Any thing in this Act to the Con-
trary Notwithstanding.

And in Case such person or persons soe Offending shall not
be able to Satisfie the same then such pson or psons shall be
bound over by some one Justice of the peace and put in se-
curity either to Appr Att the next Provll or County Court
where upon Conviction by Confession or Sufficient Witness
the offender shall be punished by Whipping on the bare back
with thirty stripes.
And for the Ascertaining and Limitting Servants times of
Servitude,
Be itt Enacted by the Authority Advice and Const afd that
whosoever shall transport any Servt into this province with-
out Indenture such Servt being above the age of twenty two
years shall be obliged to serve the full time of five years if be-
tween Eighteen and twenty two years without Indentures six
years if between fifteen and Eighteen without Indentures seven
years if under fifteen without Indentures shall serve till he or
they arrive att the full age of twenty two years. And be itt
further Enacted by the Authority Advice and Cons' afd that all
servts Transported out of Virginia into this province shall
Compleat theire time of servitude here which they ought to
have served in Virginia and no more.
And be itt further Enacted by the Authority Advice and
Const afd that Every Master Mistress dame Assignee or Trus-
tee whatsor Owning or keeping any such servts as afd whether
by Vertue of Transportation purchase or otherwise shall within
six months after the receiving such Servts into their Custody

within this province Except he she or they Claime but five years
service of such Servts bring the said Servts into the respective
County Courts where they doe Inhabitt And Every of the said
Courts are hereby Authorized to Judge and determine of the
Age of such Servts soe brought and Cause the same to be En-
tred upon Record And Every owner Neglecting as afd or re-
fuseing to bring such Servt or Servts before the Court as afd shall
not only stand to the determination of the Court but alsoe for-
feite the sume of one thousand pds of Tobo to the King his heirs
and success" for the Support of Governmt and if any Master
or Servts afd be grieved with the determinacon of the Court
he shall within the time determined for their service produce
an Authentick Cert, of such Servts Age and shall have remedy
to the aforementioned ages and forasmuch as Disputes have
formerly arose att what time servts times of Servitude whether
by Indenture or Otherwise should Comence,

all servants Transported into this province whether by Inden-
