Maryland ss.

Att the Council held at the Council Chamber in the City of
Annapolis Tuesday October the 23d in the tenth year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lady Queen Ann of Great Brittain
&c. Annoq Domini 1711.

Present
The Honble Edward Lloyd Esqr President

Col Wm Coursey
Col Thos Ennalls and Lt Col Charles Greenberry

This being the day appointed for the meeting of the Gen-
eral Assembly. The honble President was pleased to com-
municate to the members of the Board now present what He
intended to say to the House of Delegates upon the opening
of the Session and desired their advice if it might be fitt to
retrench or add any thing thereto. Of which the Gentlemen
of the Council having expressed their good Liking & Con-
currence say they do believe the same will be very proper on
this occasion
The Board adjourned for an Hour

Post Meridiem

The Council met Present as before with the addition of the
Honble Samuel Young Esqr Col Thomas Addison and Col
Richd Tilghman.
Mr Wornel Hunt and Mr Robert Ungle come from the
House of Delegates and say they are required by Mr Speaker
and the House to acquaint the honble Presidt & Council that
they are enough to make an House & wait their Commands.
Col Greenberry & Col. Addison were sent to require Mr
Speaker and the Members of the House of Delegates to
attend the honble Presidt in Council.
After which Mr Speaker and the members of the House of
Delegates came up to the Council Chamber where the honble
Presidt bespake them as followeth

Mr Speaker and you
Gent of the House of Delegates
I have thought it expedient with the Advice of her Majesty's
honble Council to convene you now It being the usual Time
to consider of & assess the publick Charge of the Province
