552 Assembly Proceedings, April 1-19, 1706.

Country exposd to every Insult that may be made on us
& for many other weighty Reasons too tedious here to be
inserted Wee Do most humbly Address your sacred Majesty
that you will be most graciously pleased to grant us a par-
ticular Species of a Small Copper Coyne in pence three
pences & six pences with your Majtys Royall Protraiture on
the one side & Maryland on the other The Intrinsick value
thereof & yor Majestys Charge of Coynage amounting to
Seven hundred pounds Sterling to be remitted by us yor
Loyall Subjects to your Treasury in England And the said
Coyne to be made only Currant in this yor Majestys Province
by yor royall Proclamation The Publiq Faith here Standing
engag'd for the Security of all such who shall receive any the
said Coine which will be a most royall beneficence to
Yor Majestys most loyal
and dutifull Subjects.

To the Right hon'ble the Lord high Treasurer of England.

The humble Address of the Governour Councill & Generall
Assembly of the Province of Maryland Humbly Sheweth,
That whereas by an Act of Assembly made in this her Maj-
estys Province of Maryland Lyonell Copley Esqr Governour
Anno 1692 there was then granted the sume of one Shilling
on every hhd of Tobacco exported out of this Province for a
Supply of our Magazines & Support of Government
And forasmuch as his late Majesty King William by his
royall Instructions bearing date about the year 1691 was
graciously pleasd to appropriate one fourth part thereof for
the Supply of this Province with arms & Amunition part of
which we most humbly Conceive hath been misapplyed by
these following payments made by our late Governour Col
Nathaniel Blakiston & by Thomas Tench Esqr President of the
Councill before our present Governours Arrivall here viz'

the Pyrate Theophilus Turner & Securing him
& his Effects sent to the Lord Bellamont by
his Majestys order
