On behalf of her Majesty &c I will this be a Law.

An Act for killing of Wolves and Crows

Be it Enacted by the Queens most excellent Majesty by and
with the Advice and Consent of her Majestys Governour
Councill and Assembly of this Province And the Authority of
the same that every person that shall bring the head of a
wolf to any of the Justices of peace in any County within
this Province shall be allowed two hundred pounds of Tobacco
from the County where the Wolf shall be Killed And that

such Justice of peace to whom the wolves head shall be

brought shall Cutt out or Cause to be Cutt out the Tongue

and Cutt or Cause to be Cutt off the Ears of such Wolves
head to prevent the deceit of twice or oftner paying for the
same.
And be it further Enacted by the Authority Advice and
Consent aforesaid that it shall and may be lawfull to and for
the severall Justices of the severall and respective Countys
within this Province and they are hereby Authorized Impow-
ered and required yearly and every year at the time of laying
the County levy to raise and assess by an equall assessment
upon the Taxables of the said County such Sum or Sums of
Tobacco as to the Justices of the severall and respective
Countys shall seem meet and Convenient and such sums of
Tobacco raised as aforesaid shall lay out and dispose of for the
purchasing of Duffells or Matchcoates and when the same are
purchasd shall deliver to such and so many persons residing
Convenient to the Indians as the Justices aforesaid shall think
fitt who shall render an Account to the said Justices at the next
laying of the Levy how such Matchcoats delivered him or
them have been disposed of & what part thereof remains in
his her or their possession or hands.
And be it further Enacted by the Authority aforesaid that
such person or persons having such matchcoats delivered as
aforesaid be and are hereby required to deliver to any Indian
or Indians for every Woolves head not having been paid for
before One Matchcoat containing two yards of Duffells and
give a true Account of the same at the next Levy Court as
aforesaid to the Justices aforesaid and shall mark such
woolves heads as aforesaid to prevent deceit as aforesaid.
And be it further Enacted by the Authority Advice and
Consent aforesaid that every person that shall bring or Cause
to be brought to any of the Justices of the peace in any
County within this Province the head of a Crow with a perfect
