Court of Record in this Province wherein no Essoyn Protec-
tion or Wager of Law to be allowed This Act to endure three
years and to the end of the next Sessions of Assembly which
shall first happen after the three years.

On Behalf of her Majesty &c I will this be a Law.
Jo : Seymour.


An Act for settlement of an Annual Revenue upon her
Majestys Governour within this Province for the time being.

Whereas by an Act of Assemby formerly made Intituled
An Act for providing a Support for the Lord Proprietary of
this Province and likewise a Supply for defraying the publiq
Charge of Government It was by the said Act publish'd and
declared that from and after the first day of September then
next ensuing there should be rais'd levyed Collected and paid
to the said Lord Proprietary the sume of two shillings Sterl
for every Hogshead or Quantity of a Hogshead of Tobacco
which should be at any time thereafter Shipped in any Shipp
or Vessell to be exported out of this Province on Condition
that his said Lordship should receive his Rents and ffines for
Alienacon of Lands in good sound Merchantable Tobacco
when tendred at the rate of two pence per pound for one
Moyety of the said Imposition the other Moyety by the said
Act rais'd to be employ'd towards Maintaining a Constant
Magazine and defraying other publiq and necessary Charges
of the Government And whereas former Assemblys upon strict
inquiry made into the Premisses did find his said Lordship had
not only been very Deficient and at Small Charges and Expences
in maintaining a Magazine as aforesaid but that this Province
hath been obliged to defray all publiq Charges arising for the
Support of Government by way of an equall Assessment upon
the Inhabitants thereof the severall Provisoes in the afore
recited Act to the Contrary Notwithstanding And whereas

also his said Lordship the aforesaid Moyety of two shillings
per Hogshead under pretext of Maintaining a Magazine as
aforesaid (untill the time of their late Majestys King William
and Queen Mary taking this Province under their imediate
protection) did Convert to his own use to the Impoverishing of
