for Negroes for raising a Supply to defray the publiq Charge
of this Province and twenty shillings per poll for Irish Ser-
vants to prevent the Importing too great a Number of Irish
Papists into this Province.
And lastly Bee it Enacted that the said Navall Officer shall
make oath before his Excy the Governour or whom the Gover-
nour shall impower to Administer such oath that the said
Navall Officer shall use his uttmost power and diligence to
cause this Act effectually to be put in Execution and A Cer-
tificate of Such oath taken shall be entred upon the Councill
Book

On behalf of her Maty &c I will this be a Law
Jo: Seymour [Seal]


An Act for the better Administration of Justice in the high
Court of Chancery Provinciall and County Courts Speedy
Recovery of Debts directing how small Debts shall be
recovered and for the more easy obtaining of execution
against persons absenting from the Countys where the
Judgments were obtained against them.

Be it Enacted by the Queens most Excellent Majesty by
and with the Advice and Consent of her Majestys Governour
Councill and Assembly of this Province and the Authority of
the same that the Justices of the Severall and respective
County Courts do with all Convenient Speed after the Publica-
tion of this Act at the Costs and Charges of their respective
Countys purchase and procure the Statute Books of England
to this Time and Daltons Justice of the Peace where they are
not already procured for the use of their respective County
Courts.
Be it Enacted by the Authority aforesaid that the Justices of
each respective County Court by force and vertue of this Act
may make such rules and orders from time to time for the
well Governing and regulating their said Courts and the
Officers and Suitors thereof as to them in their Discretion
shall seem Meett and under such ffines and forfeitures as they
shall think fitt not exceeding one hundred pounds of Tobacco
