By the Councill in Assembly Read the 1st time

Read the 1st time in the house and do pass.
The reporte of the Comittee of Agrievances brought into
the house, And being read its ordered the same be debated
Resolved they proceed thereupon.
First Agrievance read relating to riding horses &c.
Read and fully debated
Jt is Resolved that A bill be prepar'd to redress that Agrei-
vance by Imposing a fine of 500' tobacco one halfe to the
informer and the other halfe to the party Greiv'd togeather
wth such damages as the party Greiv'd can make appear he
sustained And that this law be given in charge to All Grand
Iury's.
2d Article in the said report relating to freight
Read and Resolvd that A bill be prepared to remedy that
evill declaring that every Master of A Ship shalbe oblidgd
(before he take any tobacco on board) to sett up at the County
Court house in writing What freight he will goe at that voyage,
of which the Clerk is to take notice and enter upon Record
And any one that shall Shipp tobacco before such note of the
freight shall forfeit All such tobacco as shall be so shipt And
the Mar to forfeit twenty Shillings Sterling for every hogshead
he takes on board one halfe to her Maty for the use of the
County where the tob Shalbe Shipt And the other halfe to the
informer And likewise that the Master of every Shipp thatt
send for tob to other County's Shalbe oblidgd to send A
Certificate of Notice given as Aforesaid And the Collectors
and Navall Officers within this province to procure A coppy
of Such law and Affix it in their offices.
The house Adjournes till 2 A Clock in the Afternoone.
