             542 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1731.

            

            Lib. M. Ordered that the Secretary of State his Letter dated 25th

                 Septr 1730, be recorded in the Office of the Court of Vice

                 Admiralty, amongst the Proceedings of the said Court.

                   His Excellency acquaints this Board that upon Application

                 of John Young, he drew an Order upon Col Samuel Young

                 payable to the sd John for his Years Salary for cleaning the

                 Arms &c. Ending 11th January last.

             p. 44              27th September 1731

                   Ordered by his Excellency the Governor that the General

                 Assembly which stands prorogued to the 30th Instant, be

                 farther prorogued to the second Tuesday in November next,

                 being 12th Day of the same Month; Proclamations issued

                 accordingly

            

            

                             30th October 1731

            

                   Ordered by his Excellency the Governor that the General

                 Assembly which stands prorogued to the 12th Day of Novemr

                 next, be farther prorogued to the first Tuesday in January

                 next, being 4th Day of the same Month; Proclamations issued

                 accordingly

            

                   To His Excellency Benedict Leonard Calvert Esqr Gover

                 nor of Maryland

                   The Humble Petition of the Church Wardens Vestry and

                 Others the Parishioners of St Stephens Parish in Cecil County

            

                 Most humbly Sheweth

                   That your Petitioners and the whole Parishioners have for

                 a long time laboured under the Disadvantage of having had

                 Mr John Urmston for their Parish Minister, a Man whose Life

                 and Conversation has been too shameful to mention to your

                 Excellency, and such as would have rendered a Layman of

                 any Degree whatsoever ignominious; that for about these two

                 months past the sd Urmston has not exercised any part of his

                 Ministerial Function, so that the Parish is altogether destitute

                 of a Minister, and as We imagine Vacant: We therefore

                 most humbly hope yr Excellency will take Our Condition into

                 your Consideration and be pleased to induct another Minister

                   It is with the Greatest Submission your Petrs beg Leave

                 humbly to represent to your Excellency that Mr William Bec

                 kett a Clergyman of the Church of England and a Gentleman

                 of very good Character would accept of the sd Parish would
