494 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1728.
Lib. X. same I do hereby require the ministers in their respective Parishes to read divine Service and to preach Sermons in their respective Churches on that day suitable to the Occasion and I do further Charge and Command the several Sheriffs of this province to Cause this my Proclamation to be published and read in the several Parish Churches and other the most publick places in their respective Counties as they will Answer the Contrary at their perill Given at Annapolis this 28th day of May in the 14th year of his Lordship the Lord Proprietarys dominion &c Annoq Dni 1728

Colo William Holland Philemon Lloyd Esqr Members of his the honble Colo M T Ward Lordships honourable Benja Tasker Esqr Council Charles Calvert Esqr Read the following Representation which was referred to the Consideration of this Board vizt p. 205 The humble Representation of the Honble Philip Lee Esqr To his Excellency Charles Calvert Esqr Governor of the Province of Maryland and to the honble Members of his Lordships Council in the said province The said Philip Lee begs Leave to represent to your Excel- lency and Honours that he sometime ago Intermarried with Elizabeth Sewall Widow and Relict of Henry Sewall late of Saint Marys County Gent deceased who died in the Commu- nion of the Church of Rome and at his decease left Nicholas Sewall an infant now about the age of seven years his Son and Heir of the Body of the said Elizabeth Sewall That the said Elizabeth at the time of the aforesaid Inter- marriage with the said Philip Professed the Popish Religion but hath since Embraced the protestant Religion & Continues in the profession thereof That the said Nicholas Sewall the Infant remained under the Guardianship and direction of the said Elizabeth as his Natural Guardian to the time of the said Philips Intermarriage That the said Elizabeth being desirous that the said Nich olas the Infant should be educated in the Protestant Religion
