492 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1728.
Lib. x. mand the several Sheriffs of this Province to make Immedi ate Publication hereof in the most Publick & Convenient places within their respective Countys to which all Persons are hereby required to Yield all due and Ready Obedience as they will Answer the Contrary at their perill Given at the City of Annapolis this sixth day of April in the thirteenth year of his Lordships Dominion Annoq Dom 1728 Which Proclamation Issued accordingly p. 201 It having been Observed by this Board that the Seal of the Provincial Court as well as most of the seals of the sev eral County Courts have his Majesty Royal Arms thereon Resolved that the Using of his Majestys Royal Arms to any Process or Precept Issuing out of his Lordships Courts in his Lordships Name in this Province is altogether Improper and Inconvenient Thereupon it is Ordered that the several Justices of the said Courts take due Care as soon as conveniently may be to Provide a new Seal with his Lordships Arms and the Stile of each Court Circumscribed thereon and that the Clerk of this Board Transmit a Copy of this Order to the several Justices of the said Courts Ordered that the Treasurer of the Western Shoar send to England by the first Opportunity for one hundred and twenty Quarter Barrels of Gunpowder for the use of the publick and in Case the small Books of Horse and foot Exercise formerly sent for be not Come that the said Treasurer send for one hundred of them by the same Opportunity and that the Clerk gerve the said Treasurer with this Order
Whereas this Board hath been inform'd that some Masters of Ships have lately pretended to refuse the Payment of the fourteen pence p Ton due to his Lordship Ordered that the several Naval Officers take due Care that his Lordships said p. 202 duty be punctually paid as usual Several Sheriffs Bonds were presented to this Board by Mr Vachel Denton Clerk of the Secretarys Office which were Approved of and Ordered to be so endorsed If there Appears no Immediate Cause of the Assemblys meeting in Iune next it is the Advice of this Board to his Excellency that the same be dissolved
