     At the Council held at the Council Chamber in the City of

   Annapolis Wednesday Octobr 27, 1714.

  

                         Present

     His Excellency John Hart Esqr Cap Genrll & Govr in cheif &

   The Honble  Col Edward Lloyd    Lt Col Saml Young

               Col Wm Holland      Col Thomas Greenfeild &

               Col Wm Coursey      Lt Col Richard Tilghman.

     His Excellency is pleased to Acquaint the Board That thô

   he has no regular notice of the ioss We have in the Death of

   our late Sovereigne Lady the Queen, and how happy We are

   like to be in our now Sovereigne Lord the King, Yet he

   thought it advisable to lay before them

  

             The following Declaration Viz:

     Whereas it hath pleased Almighty God to call to his Mercie

   our late Sovereigne Lady Queen Anne of Blessed Memorie,

   by whose Decease the Imperial Crowns of Great Britain,

   France, and Ireland, are Solely and Rightfully come to the

   High and Mighty Prince George Elector of Brunswick Lunen

   burgh: We therefore the Lords Spiritual and Temporal of

   the Realme, being here Assisted with those of Her late Majes

   ties Privy Council, with Numbers of other Principal Gentle

   men of Quality, with the Lord Mayor A Berincle and Citizens

   of London, do now hereby wth one full voice and Consent of

   Tongue and Heart Publish & Proclaim in that the High and

   mighty Prince George Elector of Brunswick Lunenburg, is now

   by the Death of our late Sovereigne, of Happy Memory, be

   come our onely Lawful and Rightful Leige Lord George by

   the Grace of God King of Great Britain France and Ireland,

   Defender of the Faith &c. To whome we do acknowledge

   all Faith and constant Obedience, with all hearty and humble    p. 2

   Affection:     Beseeching God by whome Kings and Queens do

   Reigne, to bless the Royal King George with Long & happy

   years to Reigne over us.

     Given at the Palace of St James's, the first day of August

   1714
