   Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1708. 245

  

     Ordered that Col. William Whittington Resurvey the said Lib. C. B.

   Indians Lands and make Report to his Exncy with all con

   venient speede what persons and whether any have encroached

   and Seated within the said Indians Lands that Care may be

   taken to redress the Aggrievance And in Case they have

   forceably entred and deteyn'd the Indians Lands they be pro

   secuted for the trespass in order to deter others. And that

   the said Colonel Whittington call what Evidences are neces

   sary to discover the Bounds of the said Indians Lands.

     Resolved that the Councill meete the sixteenth day of

   August next and that Letters be wrote to the Severall Mem

   bers to give their Attendance accordingly.

  

  

  

     Att a Councill held at the Town and port of Annapolis in p. 129

   Ann Arundell County the 16th Day of August in the 7th year

   of her MatYs Reign &c Annoq Dni 1708.

    The honble Major Genll Lloyd      Colonel Thos Ennalls

           Col Wm Holland    Colonel Willm Coursey

           Kenelm Cheseldyn Esqr Colonel Thou Greenfield

     Four of her Matys Royall Letters dated at Kensington the

   23d of Febry 1707/8 in the sixth year of her Matys Raign

   under her Sign Mannuall & countersigned by the Right honble

   the Earle of Sunderland her Matys principall Secry of State

   and Sealed with her Matys Lesser Seale appointing Col: John

   Contee Seth Biggs Esqr Samuel Young Esqr & Colonel

   Thomas Greenfield to be of her Matys honble Councill in this

   province were read at the Board and ordered to be Entred in

   the Journall of this Days proceedings.

     Colonel John Contee and Mr Seth Biggs being both dead

   since the said Letters came to hand and Mr Samuel Young

   having been allready sworne of the Councill for want of a

   competent Number. The honble Colonel Thos Greenfield was

   sworne One of the Members of this Board & having taken

   the Oaths of Allegiance & Abjuration & signed the last

   together with the Test according to Law tooke his place at

   the Board.

     Ordered that Mr Thomas Brooke pursuant to her Matys p. 130

   Royall Direction to his EXnCY be dismist from being a Member

   of this Boarde And that the Clerke of the Councill give him

   Notice thereof.

     Then was read to the Members now prsent the proceedings

   of the two last Councills who unanimously approved thereof.
