226 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1707.
Lib. C. B. His Excy in Councill pursuant to former Resolves of this Board of Reduceing the Numbr of Provinciall Justices having appointed the honble Thomas Smithson Esq Chief Justice & the honble Coll William Holland Coll Thomas Smith and Philemon Lloyd Esq justices of the sd Court the said Comis- sions being prepared under the Seale were Signed & delivered by his Excy to the Gentn in Councill. After which it was Resolved and Ordered that the Severall Gentlemen Late of the provinciall Court be inserted in the Comission of the peace with the honble her Majestys Councill and after them in their order as they were in the Late prov inciall Comission p. 91 Mr John Beale Clarke of the Provinciall Court made Oath before his Excy and this Board that he has Recorded and Ex- amined the Laws made the last Session of Assembly. Severall of the Attorneys of the provinciall Court Viz. William Bladen Wornell Hunt and Robert Gouldesborough came and Addressed his Excy and this Board Informing them they had seen their Order for regulating the Admission of practitioners of the Provinciall and County Courts. And humbly desired they might be approved of and Admit ted to practice the Law in the Severall Courts of this province. To which his Excy and this board readily agreed being pleased to Say that they had not the least objection to any of them and ordered Certificate of their Admittance should be made them under the Councill Seale. Which was accordingly done. Mr Richard Dallam one of the practitionrs of the provinciall Court and of Calvert County Court appeared before the board, and prayed his Excy and the board that he might be Admitted to practice as formerly which was likewise Granted and Ordered that Certificate be made him accordingly. Came Thomas Macnemara & preferred the following peti- tion Viz.

The humble petition of Thomas Macnemara Most humbly Sheweth.
That your petitioner has been above three years since Admitted an Attorney in her Majestys provinciall Court of this province and in Ann Arundell Calvert & prince Georges County Courts in which Courts Yor petitioner is Concerned in a great many Causes Ripe for Tryall that Yor petr finds that by the proclamation of this honble board he is not in a Capacity to plead in the Said Courts or to ffinish the Causes he is Concerned in without yor Excys & Your honrs Licence.
