     and thereupon he imediately Sprong away and he has never Lib. C. B.

     since seen him. Believes the horse Clarke was upon was

     Benja Belts who is overseer at Mr Taylors Quarter, And

     knows not but Clarke may be harboured there.

       Advised that Silvester Welch give the Said Clark a Meet

     ing this night and giving his EXnCY an Account thereof to mor

     row Morning.

       His Exncy Asks the boarde if they think it fitting the Guarde

     should be discharged froth the Magazine and prison.

       To which the boarde do say it would be very unreasonable

     at this time upon so many Informations of Richard Clarks

     ill practices & threats And therefore Advise his Exncy that the

     said Guarde be continued as thought absolutely necessary for

     the Security of the Country.

       Then was read the report about St Marys County Court

     house & order thereon as follows Viz.

    

    

     St Marys County.

         May it please Your Excellency

       By Virtue of an Order of Your Exncy & Councill to us

     whose names are here under Subscribed to Meet and Con

     sider what place in the County abovesaid is most proper for

     the Generall Conveniency of the Inhabitants to build a Court

     house upon for the use of the said County; That in Obedi

     ence to the Same wee have accordingly mett, & Waveing all

     perticular Interess, and respecting your good & honble Inten- p. 78

     tions in the Same, to witt, the Ease and Conveniency

     of the Inhabitants of the County do Unanimously Agree and

     humbly present to Your Exncy that a Certain place commonly

     called Spriggs old Feilds in Beaver Damm Manr to be (in the

     best of Our Iudgments) the properest place to Answer the

     aforesaid Ends & Intentions it being the very Center of the

     County: In Wittness whereof wee have hereunto & Affixed

     our hands and Seales this 7th day of Iuly Anno: 1707.

       The within Report being Read is not approved of: The

     place proposed for building the Court house being no Towne

     but an old ffeild four Miles from the Water But in Case the

     County agree to build a Court house on britains Bay on the
