    Captain Iames Brain being Called in His Excellency is          Lib. X.

   pleased to say that he is not to be taken with a few fair words

   in a Petition

    But Since this is a Day appointed for publick thanksgiving

   & Especially upon the happy News of the good Agreement P- 173

   of his Majesty & the Parliament of so long a Sessions upon

   that accot he is willing to remit him the Prosecution & the

   rather because this is the first time he has had any thing of

   the like nature against him

    This being the day appointed for Mr Gerard Sly to appear

   before his Excellency the Governor in Council according to

   his Bond for good behaviour & Appearance

    Came the said Mr Sly & his Bond for good behaviour and

   appearance being read as likewise Mr Sly's narrative which

   being altogether in the Negative his Excellency is pleased to

   say that he has neither complied with his Sacred or human

   obligations his oath nor his Bond but since that now God be

   thanked all those disturbances & evil Reports spread abroad

   by him & his Accomplices were Supressed & defeated & not

   knowing how to Credit any thing he should either say or

   swear tho he never made so ample discoverys he will not

   trouble himself any further and Since this is a day of publick

   thanksgiving he is willing the Bond should be Vacated &

   said Sly acquitted thereof

   mation vizt

    That about Iuly last he saw one Robert Reed of Dorchester

   County have a large Painted Pinnace with Masts & Sails &

   upon inquiry the said Reed told his Honour that two Sea

   men gave him her for carrying them to the head of Nanticoke

   afterwards sent his honr word that the Owners of her lived

   in Potomack & had Ordered him to keep her until he came
