                   Iune 1705. Present

   

               His Excellency the Governour

      The honrble Robert Smith Esqr Coll John Hamond Lt Coll

    William Holland & James Sanders Esqr

   

      Came Coll Thomas Smithson & Col Thomas Smith

      His Excellency proposes that whereas her Majestys Coun

    cill have been Somoned and have not appeared so that he

    cannot gett a Sufficient Number of Councill together not

    withstanding his utmost and best Endeavours so to doe being

    resolved not to Act under the Number of ffive proposes Why

    may not Coll Thomas Smithson & Coll Thomas Smith now

    present upon this Exigency be required to give their Advice

    or otherwise Since the Councill are not mett. He must be at

    a loss to proceed Especially in relation to the present Ship

    ping being Admitted to Sayle for England or not. Proposes

    the Matter to the Councill and Gentlemen present producing

    the Severall Papers from the Governour of Virginia viz, the

    Counciil of Virginias Proceedings thereon and Masters of

    Shipps Petition and reasons to go with the Strumbulo

    man of Warr, produced also a Letter from Mr Robert Dunk.         p. 37

    ley Adviseing of two men of Warr coming to ifetch Home

    the Present Shipping in the Country, upon which the Gen

    tlemen are of Opinion that the Said Strumbulo is no Sufficient

    Convoy.

      His Excellency Says that he will if the Board approves it

    as soone as the Present Court of Goale Delivery is over per-

    mitt the Guards may be Discharged and the Powder Disperst

    according to the Desire of the Assembly as Soone as may be.

      Read the Petitions of the Masters of Shipps in Virginia to

    his Excellency the Governour and Councill in that Colony

    may be Admitted to Sayle with the Strumbulo and the Pro

    ceedings in Councill of Virginia and the Masters of Shipps
