         Proceedings of the council of Maryland, 1704/5. 183

    

       His Excellency acquaints the Boarde he had Coll Nathan-       Lib. C. B.

     iell Blackistons Letter of the 24th of August 1704 with Copy

     of his Memoriall relating to the Three hundred pounds voted

     for New Yorke.

       Whereas William Bladen has wrote all the Military Comis

     sions for the Severall Countys in this Province and taken 23

     great Pains to Settle that affaire, Ordered that George Plater

     her Majestys Receiver pay him Tenn pounds and to Charles

     Kilburne five pounds for fireing the Gunns.

       Advised that one hundred and Tenn Halberds be sent for

     Tenn whereof to be lodged in Each County, And Directions

     be given to George Plater Esqr her Majestys Receiver of the

     District of Putuxent to send for them.

       Majr John Contee tooke the Oath of Allegiance and was

     Sworne one of the Iudges for probate of wills and granting

     Administrations &c.

       Mr Andrew Richmond tooke the Oaths of Allegiance and

     was Sworne Master Gunner Store Keeper and Armourer of

     the Towne & Port of Annapolis and gave bond for the Exe

     cution of his Trust.

       Captain Richard Johnsons Petition read praying Allowance

     of 22 l 15s 6d by him Disburst upon the ffrench prize L'Orto-

     lont is refferred untill her Majesty and his Highness the Lord

     High Admiralls Pleasure shall be Signifyed thereon.

       Whereas Mr Joseph Holt who was dismised by his Excel

     lency and this Boarde from his Cure in William & Mary Parish

     in St Mary's County has again Presented Petitions from Sev-

     erall hands to his Excellency to be Restored thereto this        p. 24

     Board being Sencible that the said Mr Holt was Dealt with

     According to his Deserts in that Matter do reject the Said

     Petitions and Resolve not to be further Importuned therein,

     of which all persons are to take Notice.

       The Lords Letter of the 29th of June 1704 read relating to

     Coyns together with her Majestys Proclamation and the

     Computation made by the Master of the Mint, Ordered that

     Proclamation Issue for this Government for the better pub

     lishing the Same and that also the Currency of Dollars It be

     refferred to ffurther Consideration of this Boarde at their

     next meeting.

    

    

         Att a Councill Wednesday Febry 21st 1704/5

                    Present as Yesterday

       Came Mr Jonathan White and Mr Ralph ffoster now and

     James Swan late one of the Vestry of King and Queens

     Parish in St Marys & Charles Countys, And the said Mr ffos-
