      researches at the Public Record Office, and the copies themselves

      found by Hubert Hall, Esq., of the Office (and a Corresponding

      Member of the Maryland Historical Society), who had transcripts made

      for us. Mr. Hall has also kindly undertaken to have search made for

      copies of other records missing from our archives.

        It will be noticed that the present volume is smaller than those pre

      ceding. This was unavoidable from the fact that the records of the

      following session are of such unusual bulk that to have included them

      in the present volume would have swelled it beyond all reasonable

      compass.
