this province in one yeare and lessen his Matys revenue more
then double the sume that we pay besides the danger of this
province being over runn and destroyed by Salvages in the
meantime.
9thly And that his Majty on consideracon thereof and his
gracious reguards for our Safety will be pleased to Exempt
us from tht or any other contribution to New York and direct
that the sd money or wt other Strength wee cann raise may
be applyed to the defence of this his province of Maryland
agt the Incursions of his Majtys and our enemys. That soe
wee with comfort and Quiett apply ourselves to our Manu-
factures of Tobbo for our owne Supporte and increase of his
Majts revenue.
The house adjournes till 2 a Clock in the Afternoone.

Post Mered. the house mett according to adjournment,
and were all prsent as in the morning.
Bill Engrossed prohibitting horse races on Satturday.
Bill for prservation of Orphans Estates Read the 1 & 2d
time and pass. And are sent up to his Excy and Councill by
Mr John Salter and Mr Charl. Greenberry, who ret. and say
they delivered the same.
The Peticon of Jonathan Price a Seaman for allowance was
here read and rejected.

An Account of Jno Bateman for an allow- £ s d
ance of 08.. 14.. 00
An Acct of Mycajah Perry for an allowance of 11.. 16.. 00

Were produced and Read in the house but forasmuch as
the same acct were not proved nor signed by any prson.
It is Resolved both accounts be rejected.
Thomas Brooke Esqr Collo Jno Hamond Collo Edward
Loyd and Mr James Saunders, enters the house and brings
with them
A Bill for prservation of Orphans Reall Estate, Endorsed.
Read 1st and 2d time and agreed to
Wm Bladen Clk Councill.

And the following Message brought down with it.

By his Excy the Govr and his Majts Councill in
Assembly March 24th 1701/2

This Board doe willingly concurr with the offer of the house
of Delegates and desire his Excy to accept thereof who returns
this Genll Assembly his hearty thanks.
