not to assent to an Act or Bill passed in an Assembly held in P. 0. R. Maryland in the year 1692 by Col: Copley late Governor there, entituled An Act for securing the Rights of severall Persons, where by the Petrs right and property to his Lands in that Province will be taken away, and utterly destroyed, and that no person be permitted to survey or hold any of the Petrs Lands without the same be first surveyed by his Surveyors, and afterwards granted under the hand and seals of the Peti tioner as formerly. It is Ordered by His Majesty in Councill, That the consideration of this Petition be, and it is hereby referred to the Right Honble the Lords of the Committee for Trade and Plantations who are to report their opinion there upon to this Board what may be fit for His Majesty to do therein. Whitehall the 24th Febry 1693/4 Sir, The Lords of the Comitee of Trade and Plantations having received the Petition of my Lord Baltimore praying that the Act passed in Assembly of Maryland in the year 1692, entit uled An Act for securing the Rights of severall persons may not be Confirmed by His Majesty their Ldps are pleased to order the enclosed Copy of the Lord Baltimore's Petition to be sent to you for your consideration thereof, together with the said Act which has been already sent you with the Laws of Maryland with a former reference from their Lordships, and you are desired to report your opinion upon the whole matter of the Petition of the Committee. I am, Sir Your most humble servant.
At the Committee of Trade & Plantations At the Councill Chamber at Whitehall the 5th of March 1693/4 Upon reading a Memoriall from Col: Nicholson Governor in Chief of Maryland the Lords of the Comittee agree to move His Majesty in Council that directions may be given that Col: Nicholson with his servants may have passage to this Govern ment at Maryland on board one of their Majties Frigates now ready to saile for those parts, And that his servants may be victualed on board during the voyage and that his household goods may be likewise transported thither. That Directions may be given that the Govr of the Planta tion's before they receive there dispatches for their respective Governments be sworn in Councill for the due observation of the Acts of Trade and Navigation as has been usuall
