Lib. x. by my Warrant theirin mentioned directed to all Sheriffs in Virginia to apprehend the said John Cood wherever he should
be found in this Governmt & him to deliver to Mr William Ockman the person sent by your Excellency or to any other that should be Authorised from your Govt & if your Excellency has been informed that Cood was here, I can give no Greater p. 123 authority then that warrant Contains by which he might have been taken up if it had been prosecuted And as for Mr Sly & others I find your Excellency upon the advice of the Lawyers to whom it was referred has issued a warrant to the Sheriff of St Marys County for bringing them before you & the Council for Examination but not that they fled from Justice or other proceedgs or Proclamations warrant ing the taking them up Elsewhere I shall be always ready to assist your Excellency for Sup port of his Majestys Government of Maryland & to prevent Combinations & other offences here against your Excellency or any other in Authority in your said Govt Your Excllcys humble Servant Governor of Maryland E: Andros

Maryland port Annapolis Augst 20. 98 May it please yor Lordps I hope in God that long before this the honourable Sr Tho: Laurence Brt his Majestys Secretary of this Province, hath waited upon yor LordPs & prsented to you the Journals and publick papers &c. with a letter of the 28th of May last, wch I did my self the honour of writing to yor Lordps as allso that wth yor leave he hath given yor Lordps a just and full account of all the affairs concerning this his Majestys Province; as aliso of the neighboring Governments in relation to this. I am humbly to beg yor Lordps pardon, that the Journals and other publick Papers, which I now humbly transmit to yor Lordps are not written upon such paper as yor Lordps sent: for it did not come time enough, only for the last journal of Coun cil; which I hope is according to yor Lordps directions: and for the future what is to be sent to yor LordPs shall be written on that paper, or other ruled like it (for I have given and sent Copys of yor Lordps Directions therein, to all publick officers) but hope we shall never want it, because I have sent to Engld.. for 12 Ream.
