Lib. x. & ease of the Country I disband & dismiss you from the present Command you have over the Rangers in Baltemore County as likewise the Men under you whereof you & every of you are to take due Notice Given under my hand & seal the day & Year above written Postscript You or any of your Rangers will Come hither Mr Henry Denton Clk of his Majestys honble Council will give you a full Acct of your pay
To Captain John Oldton Commdr of the Rangers in Baltimore County - att the Garrison there

The Council again Sate & were present as before This Board taking into their Deliberation & serious Con siderations the matter about the piscattoway Indians forasmuch p. 20 as the house of Delegates have made no final Determination
therein Butt Left the same precarious have therefore for his
Majstys Service & the more ease & Security of the Countrey
thought fit to Order as also to Authorise appoint & Empower
the honble Collo John Addison to raise ten men & two Captains
to Command those Men who are to range by turns & Observe
and follow the same Instructions as the present Rangers who
are to be paid accordingly to Act of Assembly but it is
Ordered that Captain Brightwell be not one of those two
Officers which said Men and Officers are to be raised with all
Expedition possible & placed some where Convenient for
Strengthening the Frontier plantations as the said Collo Addi
son sees fit & most Serviceable to his Majesty & safety of the
Countrey it being thought Unessasary to keep them at the
Garrison now for their is a peace & no fear of any French or
other Indians attacking those parts besides the Return of the
Piscattoway Indians may now about this time be expected
thither if they Come at all yet it is thought necessary that the
Old Rangers be still Continued and Kept in Service & pay
until the New ones be rightly Equipped & Established but
afterwards be dismissed & disbanded which is ordered Ac
cordingly -

The Council again Sate & were present as Yesterday Produced and read a petition of William Piper Gilbert Norris & Nicholas Dumaresq Masters of Ships praying a Register of their Respective Ships
