D. happen betwixt & that time; Ordr is given to the ffield Officers to have the Severall Troops & Company's always in a Readiness (upon Occasion) & to keep persons out Scouting as farr as the ffrontier plantacons until further Ordr to prevent all disordrs & Mischiefs happening the Rangers also having Ordrs sent them to keep Ranging betwixt their ffort & the ffrontier Plantacons, upon the Same Accot You may please to Remember tht about two Assemblies agoe there was a Complaint made by yor County Burgess agt the Deloware Indians, which matter being left by the House to his Exncy you Recd: Orders to discourse Govr Markham about them, they belonging to his Governmt but you have not given any Accot what you have done therein; which is desired; and it is likewise Remarked tht you mention not in yor Letter what Nation or nations of Indians they are that have Committed those Insolencies, which his EXnCY is desireous to know; being what by Speciall Ordr comes at prsent Signified from Yor very humble servant Hen: Denton William R. Mr Platers William & Mary by the Grace of God King & Commission for being Collr Queen of England Scotland ffrance & Ireland & Recr of Defenders of the ffaith &ca To all to whom these Petuxon District presents shall Come Greeting, Know yee that we
reposing especiall Trust and Confidence in the ability Care & fidelity of our Trusty & Welbeloved George Plater Esq of our especiall Grace certain knowledge & meer motion Have Ordained Constituted & appointed and by these prsents do Ordain Constitute & appoint him the sd George Plater our Receiver of our Revenues raised or to be Raised for the Support of the Governmt of our Province of Maryland within the precincts of the River of Petuxant, with full Power & Authority to Leavy Collect and Receive all & all manner of Revenues Duties imposts and proffits which shall from time to time grow due to Us for the Support of p. 125 the Governmt of our said Province within the sd precinct, such Dutys and Revenues only Excepted as by our Ordr in Councill bearing date the 26th day of ffebry in the Third Year of our Reign We have declared to belong to our Rt Trusty & Welbeloved Charles Lord Baltimore as Proprietor of our sd Province And for the Care and paines of him the sd George Plater in & about the Execution of the sd Office and Employmt We have given and Granted and by these prsents do give and grant unto the sd George Plater the ffee or Salary of One hundred pounds p Annum out of our
