      I have the ffavour of yors of Yesterday with the

     Lreinclosed Copy of the Accot of yor proceedings

     with the Indians Concerning the murder of the Woman &

     her Children, I am very Glad that you have got so many of

     the Indians that were Concern'd in the Sd murder & hope in

     God that the Rogue Call'd by the Name of Esq Tom will be

     got too, and Mayr Dent will send you a Coppy of my Procla

     mation concerning him and noe doubt his Exncy yor Governr

     will grant yor so just & reasonable Petition for Trying the sd

     Indian in yor County I have given orders to the honrble Coll:

     John Addison & Capt Richard Brightwell Comander of our

     Rangers to hold a frequent & good correspondence with you

     wch is thought to be for his mats Service by him who is

    

     I desire my humble Service to

       Mason and to all the Rest of our Yor Affectionate ffriend

       ifriends and acquaintance in yor ffr: Nicholson

     monly call'd Esq Thom: in Severall discourses with the sd Esq names are

     believe tht it was the Emperor of Piscattoway that did the belonging to

                                                 the Emperr

     Murder in Acquio on Wigentons wife & children and tht on old man now

     purpose to Cause him and the Gang with him to be Appre- with the Mattawoman.

     hended and Suspected for it & said that Severall Indians that Garrison

     he then Named to him would say as much or more to the Tom Pomun

       Also he said that when the Emperor went from Maryland Montague a

     to the place where he is now seated Severall Seniquor Indians Indians

     living hard by that place coming to the Emperr he proposed

     to them to Joyn with him and they would make a Warr on

     Maryland but not on Virga because he hoped to be Suplyed

     with powder &ca from thence but that the Seniquors Refused

     it.

       He said also that before he came from the Emperor it was

     consulted and proposed among them that some prsons should

     be Murdered at Capt Masons or Capt Oasleys and that it

     should be Laid on the Mattawoman or Pomunkey Indians &

     by that they hoped that the English would drive them from
