June the 3d 1697. The Councill again Sate and were prsent as Yesterday with the Addition of Coll Hutchins.
Granado Ordered that pursuant to an Ordinance of As sembly of Yesterdays date there being deliver'd be dd to each unto Capt Richd Brightwell Commander of the . .. Rangers in Potomock 10: Granado Shells 3: where of to be deliver'd him, by the Coll: of St Maries County, ffour by the Coll: of Charles County and three by the Coll: of Prince Georges County, 20: ffusees to be deliver'd here, as also 2: Spades, 2: Shovells and one pick Axe, and one of the latter to be deliver'd by the Coll: of Prince Georges County together with Ten pounds of Powder with fflints and Ball proportionable 2011 of Powder to be deliver'd by the Coll: of St Maries County and 20 ll by the Coll: of Charles County with fflints and Ball proportionable to each, the WCh are to be Returned back and not made Use off but upon Occasion.
Alike Ordr is directed to issue for delivering the like Amu nition &Ca unto Capt John Oldton Commander of the party of Rangers in Baltemore County to be equally proprotion'd out of Calvert, Ann Arrundell, & Baltemore Counties.
Reference & Ordered that it be Referred to the Kings Law- Kings Lawyers . —. Reportyers to make Report whether in the Comission touching Co: of Peace &ca Usually issu'd to the County's the
Clerks being inserted in the Clerks Name ought to be inserted therein; who Commission of makes Report there is no Occasion, Seeing by his peace &Ca Honr the Secryrs Commission to such Clerks, They are thereby Sufficiently empowered to Act.
