Ordrd that Mr Wm Harris & Majr Wm Whittington Carry
the sd Message to his Excy and Councill who returne and say
that they have deliverd the same
Read over the Journall of the Comittee of Acctts & Assented
to by this house
Ord'd that Majr Thos. Smith & Capt Philip Hoskins Carry
the same to his Excy and Councill who returne & say they
have Deliverd the Same
The Honble Thomas Tench & ffrancis Jenkins Esqrs Enter
the house and prsent the following Message (Viz

July 21st 1699.

Upon Referrence had by this board to the Journall of the
Comittee Last Sessions for Stateing the Revenue you will
find the money Lodged in his Excy Coll Nicholsons hands
Late Gour here wch wee Suppose ready on all occassions

By his Excy the Govr & Councill in Assembly
July the 21st 1699.

The houses Message by Mr Harris & Majr Whittington
being read at the Board & Considered wee are willing the
Law defined should be repealed

Gent. Yor Message by Capt Hill & others has been read
& Considered and as to yor acknowledgemt to his Excy wee
agree therewth he will returne you answer in due time
As to yor proposall of applying all the money in Banck to
defray the Publick Leavy wee Can by noe means advise it
Considering the psent vnsertainty of the Indians Resolution
or what their designes may be & the necessaty of Keeping
some Visible force for the Defence of the frontiers besides
what accidents or Emergencyes may happen at prsent un-
knowne
Therefore this Board advise that 800l of the same money be
reserved in Banck for the Publick use vpon any Emergencye
