by Law be Attainted And that all Jurors now att prsent under
all recognizances and prosecuted for the Causes afd may be
discharged of such recognizance and that such prosecution may
Cease And that this House and the whole province being
Assured of yor Excys Justice and Integrity in having these our
Just aggrevances redrest may more hartily Joyne in pfecting
the business of this province both for the honor of his Maty and
the benifitt of all his good and liege people of the Same

To his Excy Francis Nicholson Esqr Capt Genll & Govrnor
in Chiefe in and Over his Matys province of Maryland and his
Matys honble Councill
The humble address of the house of Delegates

May it please yor Excy
Whereas this house the fourth Instant did Call Mr Robt
Mason Treasurer of the Westerne Shoare before them to
render an Acct of his Treasurers office the sd Mr Mason did
signify to this house that yor Excy and Councill had forbidd all
the Navll officers of the Westerne shoare to Acct with him and
therefore Could give no Acct to us since the Ist of June 1697
thereupon we pused the Act Entituled An Act for the Imposi-
tion of four pence p Gallon on Liquors Imported into this
province and therein find it is Enacted that the sd four pence
shall be Collected by the Navall officers And they to render
an acct thereof once a year and the Treasurer to render an
acct thereof to the Assembly who should have the dispose-
ing of the same we Likewise perused the Act Intituled an Act
Imposeing a Duty of 10 p Cent on all European Comoditys
Exported out of this province and that the money ariseing
thereupon to be Accounted for as the four pence p Gallon
We also perused the Act Intituled an Act for Laying an Im-
position on negros Slaves and White servants Imported into
this province which money so Ariseing by the sd Acts that the
Navll offices are to Acct with the Treasurers We make our
humble addresses to yor Excy That yu will not by any ways or
means Enfringe or frustrate the afd Acts but that yor Excy will
be so pleased to suffer and pmitt the sevrall & respective
Navll officers within this province to render there Acots to the
sd Treasuerers According to the Directions of the afd Acts and
that yor Excy will be pleased so farr Capacitate the sd Robt
Mason that he may to render his Acct to this house this
