Liev' Colonel Lows petition for allowance as a Justice of
the provinciall Court referr'd to the house of Delegates
Ordered that the hon^ble Robert Smith Esq^r Majo^r John
Hamond Cap^t Rich^d Hill & Thomas Tasker Esq^r make theire
Clayme to the Assembly for their Attendance in Councill
This Board adjourned untill 8 of the Clock morrow morn-
ing

Thursday Novemb the third 1698

The Councill in Assembly Sate p^rsent as yesterday M^r
Joseph Man his pet read and referr'd to the Comittee of
Accot^s
Consid^red advised and Resolved that for as much as this
Assembly both this and the last Session have fallen into
into Great heates Animositys and differences Regarding noe
Busieness but the Lord Baltemores and theire own private
Differences and will not revive the Laws made for the Impo-
sitions for the support of the Governm^t that they be not now
Dissolved for that the said Laws will fall by such Desolution;
but that it will be for Ma^tys Service and the grate advantage of
the province that they be prorogued untill the 28^th day of June
next to the End that it may be in theire power if they thinke
fitt to doe the Country th^t good service to revive those Laws
the Burthen whereof is scarce felt by any person in the
province but the advantage and Ease thereby is Consid'able
in being greate part thereof applyed towards dischargeing the
Country Debts & publique Levy
Then Came the following Message from the house of

By the house of Delegates Nov^ber the 2^d 1698

In answer to the message dated Nov^ber the 1^th 1698 by the
Hon^ble Coll: Henry Jowles and Thomas Brooke Esq^rs
1. This house has ordered that Cap^t Rich^d Hill and maj^r
Thomas Ennalls be Joyned w^th the p^rsons appointed by his
Ma^tys hon^ble [Councill] to Examine and Margine the Laws
provided that they first draw up the Bill ordered them for to
p^rpare and that they be noe longer therein then this house shall
sett this Sessions.
2. Refferred untill the next Sessions of Assembly.
3 This house dos Conceive that the Law therin made dos
Sufficiently provide therefore
