A Proclamation for a Gen^ll Thanksgiveing read and ap-
proved of.
A Proclamation to Restreyne the Extravagancy and pre-
sumption of diverse popish priests and recusants, read and
approved off.
House adjurned for 2 hours.

Post Merediem. House mett. Major Thomas Ennalls
appears in the house as a Delegate for Dorsett County,
Upon proposall from his Matys hon^ble Councill, Cap^t Hill,
Major Hammond, M^r Harris and M^r Taylard appointed to
joyne with two of his Matys hon^ble Councill to examine and
view the Records of the Severall offices.
A Bill for Rectifying the ill practices of Attorneys, read the
2^nd time & passed.
The Reviveing Bill the 2 last messages and the Resolves

of the house upon his Ex^cys proposalls, sent to his Ex^cy and
his Matys hon^ble Councill by M^r Hutchison, M^r Campbell, M^r
Ben: Hall, M^r Iames Saunders, Maj^r Walter Smith, and M^r
Edward Lloyd, they are also ordered to present Major Ennalls
to have him sworne.
House adjourned till to Morrow Morning 7 of the clock to
M^r Speakers Chamber.

Thursday March the 31^st 1698.

The house mett and called over. Then was read what was
done yesterday
Moved by a Member if M^r John Perry shall be continued
the ensueing yeare as poste. And Resolved that he be so
continued upon the same foot as the first appointed.
Then came the hon^ble S^r Thomas Laurence Barr^t Thomas
Tench Esq. and Iames Frisby Esq. and bring downe the
Reviving bill with the remarques thereon which is ordered to
be amended accordingly.
They also bring down the Bill for rectifying the ill practices
of attorneys which is ordered to be engrossed, likewise they
bring the following Messages and proposalls, Viz^t

By his Ex^cy the Gov^r and Councill in Assembly,
March the 30^th 1698.

In reply to the answer of the house this day received in the
matter concerning the 4 articles conteined in Cap^t Slyes
papers you were required to make answer to.
This Board dos say that it can in no wise be apprehended
