Schooner Baltimore now lying in the Port of Baltimore her
Cargoe of Flour and other Provisions for the use of the Fleet
and Army of His most Christian Majesty in the West Indies,
the said Schooner clearing out at the proper Office and the
Captain previously thereto delivering into such Office a
Manifest of her Lading and together with two other of the
Principal Officers of the said Schooner making Oath on the
Holy Evangelists of Almighty God that such Manifestcontains
a true Account of the Lading of the said Schooner and that no
other Provisions have been to their knowledge or Belief or
shall be with their Privity and Consent laden or put on board
such Schooner other than such as are for the Subsistance of
her Crew and have been or shall be allowed and permitted by
the Naval Officer and that they will use their utmost Endeavors
to deliver the whole Cargoe of Provisions aforesaid to the
proper Person or Persons to receive the same for the use of
the Fleet and Army of his most Christian Majesty; and the
Agent employed in directing the Loading of the said Schooner
also making Oath that the Provisions mentioned in the said
Manifest are shipped and designed to be transported in the
said Schooner for the use of the Navy and Army of his most
Christian Majesty and for no other Purpose to the best of his
Knowledge and Belief

In Council Annapolis 15th Octr 1779
Sir
We send you by Mr Beatty thirty thousand Pounds. We
go on in Baltimore better than we expected in the Purchase
of Country Linen from £5 to £6. a Yard, wherefore we re-
quest you to purchase Linen sufficient for only 1500 instead
of the 3000. Have the Linen made up into Shirts as quick as
possible & washed. Mr Randall the State Cloathier is waiting
for the Cloaths we are collecting

We are glad to hear you have a Prospect of getting your
Quantity of Country Linen Mr Randall waits for what we can
do towards cloathing the Troops, wherefore we wish you to
