fitting out the Galley Conqueror Boat Dolphin and partly the

Chester Galley p accts passed by the Aud Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to James Sullivan Twenty six
Pounds, two shillings and six Pence due him p ace' passed by
the Aud Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to William Johnson Twelve
Pounds, Fifteen Shillings per Account passed by the Depy
Aud.
Recommendation given to Ezekiel Forman of Kent County
and also to Daniel Carroll of Baltimore County to the Com-
manding Officer at the Posts near the British Lines for Leave
to have an interview on the Lines with Gentlemen of New
York, if the Business cannot be conducted on the Lines Leave
is given them to go into the City of New York on their
obtaining the Proper Permission according to the Resolution
of Congress

Tuesday 16th March 1779

Present as on Saturday except Thomas Sim Lee Esqr
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Henry
Ridgely Junr six Pounds for the use of Henry C. Hobbs p
Certa allowed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to James McComas Nine
Pounds for the use of Patrick Finnagan and also the further
Sum of Thirty Shillings for the use of William Bradford p
Accts passed by the Depy Audr

Wednesday 17 March 1779

Present as on Yesterday
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to John
Annis, Ten Pounds ten Shillings due him per Acct passed by
the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to John Key Fifteen Pounds
for the Use of Jacob Woolfe p Account passed by the Aud.

Gent of the General Assembly
The Bounties and Encouragements offered to Seamen and
Marines in the Coarse of the last Session have not had the
Effect you expected and I wished; the Officers have engaged
a few but, I believe, our Number is not on the Whole at all
increased. The Congress having laid aside the Scheme of
employing the Baltimore and Independence which indeed we
