Lib. H. D. Upon Consideracon of the Statute & Comment aforesd and the Constant practice & Constitution of this Province Conso nant to the Laws of England I am of Opinion that such a Commission as is prayed may be Granted & Executed in this Province I am Yor Obedient Servant Wm Dent
Janry the 17th 1696/7. p. I am of Opinion that a Speciall Commission of Oyer and Terminer does well lye in this Case the same being Agreeable to Severall Commissions of this nature heretofore Granted upon such Occasions and alwaies allowed Legall. Yor Exncys Obedient Servant George Plater
Janry the 28th 1696. The Corn. Produced accordingly unto his Exncy (in the mission
approved prsence of the honrble Sr Thomas Laurence Barront off by Mr Secretary no more of his mats Councill being pos Attorney & sibly to be got together) a Speciall Commission for Sollicitor Genll &ca Tryall of the aforementioned Ship (being the day appointed for Tryall) which was given to Mr Attorney and Sollicitor Genll for their perusall & Opinion thereon, the which being by them approved to be a legall & Warrantable Com mission for the design intended was signed by his Exncy and passed the Broad Seal of the Province.
