D. ing and improving his Plantations in America & else where We have thought fit to acquaint you that it is his Mats pleasure and Express Comand that the Governrs of all his fforreign Plantations doe from time to time; give unto Us frequent and full Information of the State and Condition of their respective Governmts and plantations, as well with the Regard to Admrcon of the Governmt and Justice in those places, as in relation to the Comerce thereof; and more particularly that the sdI Gov ernrs transmit unto Us yearly Accots of their sd Admrcon by way of Journall; together with the Acts of the Assemblys in the respective Plantations; and Exact Accounts of all money given for publick vses, and how the Same is from time to time expended or laid out; All wch things you are therefore accord ingly to observe in relacon to the Province of Maryland comitted to yor Charge. Particularly We desire and Require you, by the ffirst opportunity to send us a Compleat list of the Names of the p. present Councill of that Province, and together with that, a further List of the Names and Characters of such persons as you think proper to Supply the Vacancies that may happen either in the Councill or any other Office wherein they are to be confirmed by his Mats approbation. 2. And further We desire you to inform Us by the ffirst opportunity what Number of Inhabitants there are within that whole Province. What of ffreemen And what of Servants; White and Black. 3. How are those Numbers increased or decreased, since yor Entrance upon tht Governmt Or since the last Estimate that you understand to have been made of them. 4: ifrom whence are any New Inhabitants come into that Province or to what places are they Removed, Particularly, whether to, or from Pensilvania. 5: What is the whole number of the Militia of that Province. 6: What proportion of the Inhabitants are imployed in Planting of Tobacco, And what proportion in any other way, and particularly what way. 7: What Commodities are Exported from that Province to England besides Tobo 8: What Trade is there either by Exportacon or importa tion, with any other place; And from whence is that Province now ifurnished with Supplyes particularly of any Manufactures tht it was wont to be furnished withall from England. 9: How is the Trade of tht Province increased or decay'd of late years; and what has been the Reason of such increase or decay. 10: What are the prsent methods used to prevent illegall Trade. And what further methods doe you think adviseable for that purpose.
