  Provll Clerks Pursuant to an Order of his EXnCY ffrancis Nichol

  Return about

  safe convey. son Esqr Governor and the honoble the Councill of

  ance of the the said province Convened at St Maries on the 24th

  Records &ca

          of January last past appointing severall persons (best p. 121

  qualifyed to that purpose) to inspect the Records lying in the

  State house at St Maries, on the 2th of this instant ffebry and

  to propose & Resolve vpon the best ways & Methods for the

  Removall & conveyance of the said Records; Wee whose

  Names are Underwritten do hereby Testify & declare. (as

  well for the satisfaction of his Excellency & Councill and the

  Burgesses & Delegates of this Province, this day assembled

  at this Town of Ann Arrundell, as of all other persons whom

  it may concern) that Whereas the said Records (according to

  a List or Catalogue of the same, taken and made out by the

  severall persons appointed as aforesaid, an Authentick Coppy

  whereof is in the hands of Mr Henry Denton Clerk of the

  Councill) were on the 19th of this instant by the Order &

  Authority of his Excellency & the honoble Councill committed

  & Given to our Custody & Charge in Order to be Conveyed

  to this place; Wee have without any damage, loss or prejudice

  safely brought all and every the said Records to this Town of

  Ann-Arrundell and delivered and placed the same as by the

  aforesaid Order is directed; In testimony whereof Wee have

  herevnto set our hands this 28th day of ffebry 1694

    On the back of the said Return was thus written

 

 

         By his Exncy the Governor & Councill

                   ffebty 28th 1694

 

    Ordered that the within Return be Recorded in the Journall

  of the House of Burgesses and then Returned to this Board

  together with the Lists of the Records this day sent.

   By his Exncy the Governor & Councill in Assembly.

                    March 1st 1694.

  Order for in- Ordered that the persons formerly appointed to

  Commiss inspect the Secretaries Records, do inspect the Com

  Records &Ca missary Records likewise and that they Meet at St p. 122

 

  Maries the 15th day of April next for the said End & purpose
