An Act for the Imposition of 4^d p Gall: on Liquo^rs imported
into this Province.
Act to prevent the great Evill occasioned by the Multiplicity
of horses within this Province.
Act Empowering Rich^d Bishop of Talbot County &^ca to Sell
800 Acres of Land &^ca
Act for regulateing Ordinaryes & limiting the Number of
them within this Province.
An Act prohibiting the Inhabitants of this Province or any
others from carrying Liquo^rs to the Indian Townes & Cabins.
An Act for the Laying an Imposition on Severall Comodities
Exported out of this Province.
Produced again & Read the Vote of the House of Burgesses
relateing to W^m Burley & George Mason prisoners now under
sentence of Death, This Board doe Agree with the Vote of
the said House & all the Lawyers in Towne appeareing at the
Board to Advize whether the Law will admitt of Bayle in such
Case & whether an Act for the said purpose might be proper
to pass, to which they are of Opinion that they may be set to
Bayle upon soe Speciall a Case as this & that the same will
be best to be done without an Act. Then it is demanded by
his Ex^ncie what Bayle is most proper to be taken, to w^ch was
Answered th^t the best way that can be taken is th' they bring
two psons who will Enter into Recognizance body for body
th' the s^d prison's shall be forth comeing when called.

Ordered that the said prisoners be set to Bayle, they bring-
ing Two psons to Morrow Morning before this Board &
House of Burgesses that will Enter into Recognizance Body
for Body for the said Mason and Burleys appearance when
called.

Brought from the House of Burgesses the following Bill for
Ports fairly Engrossed & Assented to by the House, being
Read was likewise Assented to by the Covncill.
Then Likewise Read the following Representations of the
house, relateing to S^r Thomas Laurence Viz^t

By the Burgesses of Assembly October 17^th 1694.

Upon the Report of a Comittee of Agreiveances to this
house made Relateing to the illegall & severe vseage of S^r
Thomas Laurence their Ma^ts Secretary of this province by his
Late Ex^ncy Coll Lyonell Copley their Ma^ts Govern^r deceased
w^ch said proceedings were laid before an Assembly begun the
20^th day of September 1693: in the 5^th year of their Ma^ts
Reigne &^ca And by the same found & adjudged to be an
apparent violation of Comon Right & Directly contrary to the
