vntill the Arrivall of their Majties Governr Coll Copley deed
whoe Continued them upon the sd Repreive promiseing to
Represent their Majties with their Reasons to Induce their
Royall pardon, But neglected the same as appeares by account
lately out of England, that Noething was determined therein
for want of the Record of their Tryall& Reasons presented to
their Mats By wch meanes & their long continuance in prison it
hath put the province to one hundred thousand pounds of
tobacco Charge And if continued till their Mats pleasure can
be knowne will be as much again another yeare.
This House therefore to avoid the said Charge & not
deprive the prtrs of the Mats great & Royall prerogative in
such Case of shewing Mercy Doe humbly pray the Concur-
rence of yr Exncy & the Honble Councill that the petrs may be
let to bayle till their Majts pleasure shall be knowne or any
other way you shall thinke fitt after the Record of the Tryall
& their Reasons for Mercy shall be Laid before their Majts
which this House on their behalfe doe humbly Request your
Exncy to Cause to be done for them &ca

Resolved that the Attorneys be Consulted therein whether
psons under their Circumstances can be bayled according to
the Vote of the House of Burgesses.
The Burgesses of the House of Assembly Answer to the
proposalls to New England relateing to their Majties Stores was
Read as follows Vizt

By the Assembly October 11th 1694:

Upon Reading the Proposalls to New England concerning
the Kings Stores; this house haveing considered thereupon
doe humbly say & Declare that this Countrey is very capable
of furnishing their Majties with Masts of all Sorts, Yards, Bow-
sprits, Tarr, Knees, pipe staves, barrell Staves, to a great
quantity every yeare upon Suitable & timely Notice to Us
given, and at reasonable prices.

The Honoble their Majts Covncill doe Agree wth the Opinion
of the House of Burgesses therein Whereupon his Exncy was
pleased to Order that the Gentlemen of the Councill as alsoe
of the House of Burgesses should after their getting home
make inquirey where the best & Convenientest places are for
