Bill and find that by the same the aforesaid Bills are revived
and put in force for the term of three years or until the end of
the next General Assembly which we conceive hath happened
through some neglect or mistake and to Remedy the same do
humbly desire the said two Acts may be Repealed and drawn
up a new declaring thereby the Act for the 3^d p hhd given his
Excellency to be in force during his Government only accord-
ing to the Originall and true Intent of this House and the last
3^d to continue and be in force until the 12^th day of May which
shall be in the year of our Lord God 1698 and applied to the
building of the Church at Annapolis

Ordered that an answer to the same be drawn up which
was done as follows viz^t

29^th 1696

The message relating to the Additional duty of 3^d p hhd
to his Excellency was Received and here read which
is answered by the message this day sent by the honble Col⁰
Greenberry and Col^o Hutchins to which the House is referred
and to the Copie of his Majestys Royal Instruction therewith
sent the House having sent no answer to the proposall about
the Church. As to the proposall about the School Master it
is Agreed of

Resolved that the Justices of the County courts upon the
death or disability of the Clerk of the County or Clerk of the
Indictments be hereby empowered to appoint such Clerk of
the County Court or Indictments p hac Vice until further direc-
tions from the honourable the Secretary or Attorney General
