The following wounded soldiers each received the sum of pounds
from Robert Denny, 1782.
Mch 5 Nelce Jones, a wounded soldier of the 2nd Md. Regt.
Mch 23 Robert Taylor, a wounded soldier in distress from the Southward.
Annapolis, June 25th, 1790.
Sir
I enclose returns of the invalid pensioners paid by this State, and I
regret that they have been so long delayed which was owing to many
of the returns being imperfect; indeed, although we have sent to many
of the Counties to get the returns more perfect, they are not so com
plete as I would wish.
I think proper to make some remarks on the return of officers, and
request that you will inform me which of them, (if any) are excluded
from the half pay of the United States by the Acts of the late or present
Congress, that I may communicate it to the legislature of this State, for
them to determine whether they will continue the pensions to those who
are rejected by the United States.
Perry Benson, James Bruff, Richard Anderson, John Trueman,
John Lynn, James Ewing and James Somervill, have received their 5
years commutation from the United States, and under a particular law
of this State made expressly for their relief have received half pay.
J ehu Bowen was wounded at German Town and afterwards re
signed, but as the disability occasioned by his wounds still continued,
