about the house knocking on it with Sticks and Truncheons.
The man with his Wife and Children being in the house made
noe noyse and thereupon the Indians went away, onely the
man is afraid they have killed his Cow for lookeing over his
pasture (which is but small) he can't find her, they were like-
wise at a Plantation of Capt ffendalls hard by there where
they have Robb'd them but of what or how much I can't be
certaine save two hoggs they killed. The Inhabitants here-
abouts are in greate feares many of them are drawing off
from their Plantations, who are much troubled at this sudden
(but not unexpected news) They doe say that if your Lspp doe
not take some speedy cause to secure them they are afraid it
may tend to the loss of both their lives and Estates, if your
Lspp think fitt to send your ordr for the Inhabitants to draw
together it will be very requisite. This is all at present (in
haste) from Your Lspps most humble and
Obedient Servt
Thus directed Wm Chandler
To the Rt honble the Lord Propry

what may be saved, but if noe speedy course be taken the
Estates will first be theirs, and then our lives will be next at
their mercys; I wish noe murders have already been com-
mitted, if any, I must declare such ought not to lye at my
doore that have soe often sollicited you to secure your Selves
and those you represent, and (if my word may be taken) it
