did say that onnondagues made Proposalls to them with
p'sents that if any harme did behalfe them, that they the Sinni-
goes and the whole nations would ioyne together to assist one
another, and did crave the advice of this Governrmt, and
direction what they should doe, whereby it does appeare that
the Onnondage who are well knowne to this Towne to have
done Cheifely the mischeife amongst us, hearing wee had
raised forces against them made their applicacons to the Sin-
nigoes, and the Sinigoes desired the direction of this Governmt
which gave the fairest occasion of doeing some good service
for the Christians in our parts, Yett wee find not in the
answere one word tending to diverte and hinder such a Con-
federacy, but rather the Contrary with words makeing knowne
to them that (notwithstanding they confest some of their
nations had killed Christians Virginia there was noe Evill or
harme intended them by this Government, likewise it appeares
that A Beaver was prsented, and soe farr as wee see accepted
too for the burying in Oblivion all the Christian bloode and
other Spoiles don in our Country last yeare: Now Sr when
you please and seriously Consider, these proceedings and
what neglects has beene in takeing a timely care to prvent their
Troopes goeing downe against us this yeare, You will perceive
what assistance and friendship hath beene done to us hitherto
and that it is not without some cause that wee have exprest
our sentiments vpon the proceedings here, and that you will
looke vpon our proposalls reasonable necessary and the onely
probable Expedient to secure their faith to such peace as wee
shall make with them, and will please to empower the Comis-
sarys accordingly, for wee must crave leave to tell yor Honor
that the subject matter of our negotiacon is of noe less moment
