Saying why should not wee pole my Lord as well as he poles
us; and in the Company nameing my Lord, the said Carvile
answered My Lord a ffart; it was asked the said Carvile, why
a ffart, the sd Carvile replyeing there is little difference
betweene him and a ffart; at the same time the sd Carvile
Said that he was as good a Mann as my Lord, what are the
Calverts ? My ffamily is as antient as the Calverts, And
further this Dept saith not

Mr Robert Carvile called & his answer demanded, he Saith
that he was not himself but wanted his reason at that tyme
when this discourse happened, which he cannot remember
came from him but Sayeth not any thing in his defence
against the aforegoing evidences, which he knoweth to be of
greate creditt, but submitteth himself to his Lspps mercy
His Lspp commandeth his Secrys to strike him off of the
Roll, and that he be not Suffered to plead any more in any
Court within this Province; that he be bound to answer his
abuse to his Lspp at the next Provll Court and give good secu-
rity for his good behaviour in the meane tyme, to be taken by
the Sheriffe.
Ordered also that the Deponents Joshua Doyne, James
Bowling Thomas Mudd, and Joseph Pile Enter into Recogni-
zance of twenty pounds sterling to give in their Evidence agt
the sd Carvile at the next Provinciall Court.
Accordingly came Capta Joshua Doyne, Capt James Bow-
ling, Mr Thomas Mudd, and Mr Joseph Pile and acknowl-
edged themselves to owe and stand justly indebted unto the
Rt honble the Lord Propry in the full and just Summe of
Twenty pounds Sterling each of them to be leavyed of their
goods and Chattells Lands and Tenemts to the onely vse and
behoofe of his said Lspp his heires and Successors upon condi-
tion that if they and either of them shall be and psonally
