Eodem die. Then Ordered that the County Courts be called to
lay their County Levy Whereupon it was Comanded each
respective Sheriff that imediately after Receipt of the publiq
Levy he sumon together foure or more of the justices of the
Peace of his County (whereof One to be of the Quorum) to
sitt as a Court to lay the County Levy.

Eodem die Then also was Proclamation by the Governour &
Councell Ordered to be sent to the Severall Sheriffs against
exportation of Corne beefe, porke or other provisions what-
soever without Licence from the Governour first had &
obtained. Vide proclamacon fol 34.

Eodem die. Then Ordered that Richard Keene keepe the fferry
for horse and foot Over Petuxent River from his now dwell-
ing house to his plantation on the other side and from thence
to his dwelling house aforesaid and that the Licence hereto-

fore granted to George Beckwith to keepe the fferry Over
the said River be and is hereby utterly void & invalid.

An ordinance of the Honble Charles Calvert Esqr Lievt Genll
& Chiefs Governor of the Province of Maryland & the Honble
Councell sett forth & published for the settling & Establishing
of a ferry to be constantly kept over Petuxent River in
Calvert County.

Whereas many Inconveniencyes have & doe daily happen
to divers the Inhabitants of this Province that have occasion to
travel either on horseback or on foot over Petuxent River
about their lawfull occasions And for that severall Assemblies
have Endeavoured to make a Law for the same, but could not
pitch upon a person that would willingly undertake the same
