and by what I can undrstand the Indians were well Satisfied

tenanced they will submitt to the Senniquo: I hope yor Lspp:

ffor other news it is here reported from
Virga of a man goeing out of the
garrison there to remoove his horse
was carried away by some Indians.

The Lord Propry and his Councill take into Consideration
the present condicon of the Emperor of Pascattoway and the
Indians undr his Command oppressed by the Sinniquo and
Susquehannohs. And the said Emperor haveing Declared
that he will not stay at the place of his wonted habitation, but
for security of himself his men and their wives and Children
will remoove to Mattawoman or such other place as his Lspp
shall appoint as appeares by the Letter of Capt Randolph
Brandt whom his Lspp sent up to Pascattoway ffort to undrstand
the condition of the said ffort and Indians lately assaulted by
the Sinniquos and Susquehannohs. His Lspp commanded the
severall Articles of peace with the said Emperour and Nacons
under his Command to be read, and it appeareing by the
Articles made with the said Emperor in the Assembly held in
the yeare 1666: and afterwards renewed & ratified by his
Lspps Deputy Lievetenants 20th July 1670: that in case of
Danger his Lspps: Governor here shall appoint a place to wch
the Indians undr the said Emperors Command shall bring
their wives and Children to be secured from Danger of any
fforreigne Indians. His Lspp with the advice of his Councill
doth hereby appoint Nantecoke River for the place for the
said Emperor to secure his men, their women and Children in
till such time as they heare what peace their Embassadors
lately sent to the Sinniquos and Susquehannohs Indians can
procure, and in the Interim his Lspp: by the advice aforesaid
doth ordr that powder and shott be sent to the
said Emperor for his better Defence if he and his men think
fitt to Defend the ffort or prosecute the warr, or otherwise
that Sloopes and Boates be provided for transportation of the
said Indians their women and Children wth their pvisions
And his Lspp: doth declare to the said Indians that he hath
Chosen this place (viz) Nantecoke the rather because he hath
been informed by the Pascattoway Indians, that the Emperour
of Nantecoke hath lately Invited them the said Pascattoways
to come and cohabitt with the Nantecokes.
