Whereas there have many Inconveniencies happen'd in this
Province for want of appointing Coronrs in each County Be it
Enacted by the King and Queens most Excellent Majesties
by and with the advice and consent of this present Generall
Assembly and the Authority of the same That the Governor
for the time being, do constitute and Appoint such person or
persons from time to time to be Coroners as he shall Judge
most able and best qualified for that Office in each respective
County in the Province. And be it further Enacted by the
Authority aforesaid by and with the advice and consent
aforesaid That the Governor give out Commissions to such
persons to the intent and purposes as aforesaid, and that the
same as near as may be may concurr with the Laws and Con-
stitutions of England, And that an Oath be Administred to
every such Coronor by appointment of the Governor at their
entring into the said office according to the forme of the Oath
of A Coroner in England.
